As the world is leaning now toward mobility, laptops are much practical for an IT Professional, but they lack RS232 ports nowadays. My question is : when will Cisco deliver a console cable with USB support (instead of RS232) because third party adapters really suck.

Cisco is doing it now. With the newer models of routers/switches and such. The option to purchase a usb console cable is now available. Newer Cisco devices are being delivered with both the standard console connection and a mini usb connection. You choose which cable to purchase when you build your particular order.
