I know this is not the right forum to ask but if there is someone who has a experience with Juniper and Foundry can help me.

Is something similar to Cisco Express Forwarding available on Juniper and Foundry switches .

Hello Jiten,

the answer is positive each vendor has his own technologies, but a functional equivalent of CEF is present in Juniper devices according to my direct experience.

Juniper implementation is different and indipendent.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi,

thanks  for you reply . Can you name that feature . I shall be able to then search about the topic.

thanks.

Hey there, buddy.

There's actually no "feature" like CEF in JunOS. When IOS started, it began as a monolithic network operating system. In contrast, Juniper developed JunOS as a modular operating system (I can't really say its micro-kernel, hehe). I haven't looked at IOS-XR, XE and Nexus in detail but Cisco went that route (developing these OSes) to go around the problems with IOS.Look up Ivan's blog post at MPLS: JunOS vs Cisco.

This is a post from x years ago - I got here researching mtrie data structures. Forsome reason I got the "yips" and reading on the weirder stuff is helping me get back my drive in studying and information retention. :)
