Cisco FRU Control Module not OK

Vic48
Level 1
Level 1

I've gotten this message from our monitoring tools in regards to a Cisco 3850, but I'm not finding any issues with the switch

Cisco: FRU Control Configuration (WS-C3850-48P module name Entity 5000 serial number Entity 5000) Operation Status for Module not OK, Current status is missing

But when I run a show environment no issues come up. Is this message just "cosmetic" or is there a legitimate issue? If there is an issue what commands can I use to further investigate? I've been unable to find any meaningful information on this.

Thanks!

Hey!

You have a 5th Stack Member provisioned in your configuration,
it could be that your Monitoring System does not like the fact, that there is a 5th Member configured, but not actually there!

You could try taking the 5th Member out of the config like this:

"(conf)#no switch 5 provision"

Let me know if that resolved the alarm.

Best regards
Julian

What firmware is the stack running on?
And how long has this stack been running on this firmware?

The stack has been on the same firmware for a minimum of  year.
