cisco ios versions available and platform supported

Hi every body

I have few questions

how can i find out  what different ios version are  available?

Which ios version is supported on which platform?  For example, if i have  4503 switch,  and i need to know which ios version this switch 4503 can run, how can i find this out ?

Hi,

  It depends on Supervisor you are using. Just try this.

  Ref: http://www.cisco.com/web/go/fn

  Then do <Search by Platform>

  Or you may try to check this link , http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/navigator.html?a=a&i=rpm

  However,you need to have enough privilege to download software.

Hi Sarahr202,

Go to cisco website --> support --> downloads

or simply click here http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/navigator.html

Here you can seleck the products or technology,

As per your requirements click products on the left coloum, then on the right colomn choose switches.

After clicking on the switches you can see one more coloum will appear on the right side of this coloum.

Click "LAN Switches - Access, this colum be be updated , click "Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Switches", and then "Cisco Catalyst 4503 Switch"

Here you can choose the supervisor engine, what ever you have, let say if you have Cisco Catalyst 4000/4500 Supervisor Engine IV, click on it

then click on IOS Software.

Here you can see all the softwares available and compatible with Catalyst 4503 using Sup IV.

As per current Cisco rules , to download an IOS , you need a CCO login and smartnet of the product (you wish to download the software for that) should be associated with that CCO account.
