 - Use show logging , on the ISR after installing the SIM card; look for errors or problems (if any).

 - Looks like the SIM is not found; perhaps the sim-card is bad ; and or try re-seating it.

Hello,

post the full running configuration of your router...

Hello,

--> Sierra Wireless Mini Card MC8795V HSPA modem.

I checked the data sheet, you need at least 15.3(3)M for HSPA modem support. Try and upgrade to 15.4.3M9 MD to be on the safe side...

Ok, tomorrow I'll try and write, thanks

updated, did not work

Hello,

there are a lot of things missing in your configuration. What country are you in, and who is your provider ? You need a chat script, at the very least...

I'm from Russia
Provider Tele2 AB
something that lacks the settings I know, before that they were, the chat script was,
but the problem is that the sim card is not physically determined,
It should give at least some signs that it is installed in the slot

sh controllers cel 0  shows that the SIM card is not installed.

also updated the firmware of the modem on 8790_k2_0_7_53

Hello,

what happens when you manually activate the SIM:

Router# cellular 0 gsm sim activate slot 0

I did some more research, all the working configs I have found seem to work with HSPA+R7, while your modem is only HSPA...that might be the problem...

Hello,

cisco#cel 0 gsm sim activate slot 0
[Cellular0] Command failed: SIM 0 not present.

How did you go with this? I'm having exactly the same problem on an 887VAG with a Telstra simcard here in Australia.  I KNOW the simcard works, as I just pulled it out of a MF823 dongle where it was working..  Neither SIM slot on the 887 is seeing the sim as available, just throwing read errors when the sim is inserted.
