Cisco Login using Encrypted Password

Hi

I want to find out if I can login to a cisco switch (Nexus 7000) using the encrypted password.

The reason? well my nexus 7000 has a memory issue and requires a reboot to fix, so currently is not saving configs. The local account on the running config has a different password that the local account on the startup config.

After the reboot it will revert me to the startup config so I am wondering if I could login using the encrypted Type 5 password in the backed up startup config.

Not to the best of my knowledge, no.

Bit of a long shot, but use Google Chrome (fastest) and try my type 5 password breaker.

Use it on a machine you can leave running for several days.  The more CPU cores the better.
