Hi,
I'm looking for a Cisco Network Backbone (so best 2 core switches).
At the moment we have 2 6880 Blackdiamonds, where are 20 Switches connected over Optical Fibre Cable to them.
Because these 2 Coreswitches are very old now (over 9 years) i'm looking for a replacement. (maybe something with also 10GB modules? (fibre))
greetings,
max

You can use cisco nexus 7000 series switches which gives very high performance with high density of 10G ports
Or you could use either 6500 or 7600 in the core as an alternative
Check out the details of each one and it's feature and capabilities then you can make the call
Hope this help
