Cisco Nexus 1000v and HP Procurve 2920

Hello,

Driving myself crazy here trying to get my Cisco Nexus 1000v switches stood up and talking with the rest of my network.

Version 5.2(1) SV3 (1.3)

I have three hosts, ESXi 5.5 Enterprise Plus, and I have stood up a pair of VSM modules in HA for the switches.  I have configured the port-channels for LACP, feature LACP is enabled.  I am also trying to have these switches use layer 3 for VSM to VEM Communication.

Here are my two port profiles:

port-profile type ethernet Prod-Uplink
  switchport mode trunk
  switchport trunk allowed vlan 1-2
  channel-group auto mode active
  no shutdown
  system vlan 2
  state enabled
  vmware port-group
port-profile type vethernet CiscoN1Kv-MGMT
  switchport mode access
  switchport access vlan 2
  no shutdown
  capability l3control
  system vlan 2
  state enabled
  vmware port-group

On the HP side of the switch, it is set in a Trunk for LACP.  This should be everything I need?

What is happening is that the Prod-Uplink never comes online, and no communication happens between the VSM and VEM,  sh module shows just the VSMs.  I think the problem is that the Cisco Nexus 1000v is not bringing the trunk online.

I have tried various channel-group commands with no luck

channel-group auto mode active

channel-group auto mode passive

channel-group auto mode on mac-pinning

Any help would be appreciated, find it very odd that it wouldn't work with these switches.

Thanks.

I have re configured everything again and it works in Layer 2 mode, rules out the HP switch.

Back to the drawing board with L3 configuration to see what I am missing.
