I have a question on the support contract for an N2K - this is handled by a 3rd Party and not directly through Cisco.
We have multiple N2k Fabric extenders when you run a show inventory you get the following output from the Nexus 7000 (I have hidden parts of the serial number)
NAME: "FEX 104 CHASSIS", DESCR: "N2K-C2248TP-E-1GE CHASSIS"
PID: N2K-C2248TP-E-1GE , VID: V01 , SN: -------CR6
NAME: "FEX 104 Module 1", DESCR: "Fabric Extender Module: 48x1GE, 4x10GE Supervisor"
PID: N2K-C2248TP-E-1GE , VID: V01 , SN: ------VBE
NAME: "FEX 104 Fan 1", DESCR: "Fabric Extender Fan module"
PID: N2K-C2248-FAN , VID: N/A , SN: N/A
NAME: "FEX 104 Power Supply 1", DESCR: "Fabric Extender AC power supply"
PID: N2200-PAC-400W , VID: V03 , SN: ------0KB
NAME: "FEX 104 Power Supply 2", DESCR: "Fabric Extender AC power supply"
PID: N2200-PAC-400W , VID: V03 , SN: ------0KD
Now the strange thing is we have the same PID appearing twice (N2K-C2248TP-E-1GE) but it has two descriptions and two serial numbers.
So do I need the support company to quote for both serial numbers even though the part number is identical?
Thanks in advance

You only need the chassis's serial number for support. The other serial numbers are for parts inside the switch.

Thanks for your answer - this is what I thought it would be.
