Hi Reza,

Thanks for your help, can you please explain briefly because our monitor server is HP Arc Sight device(IP : xx.xx.xx.xx).

How to config through this IP to capture the logs from that CISCO devices.

Can i use the below to configure" https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-4788 "

Regards,

Kannan

Hi,

The link you provide is good.

You can also follow the config guide doc I provided you in the last post:

Here is some of the sample config from the doc:

just change the IP to your server IP.

System Message Logging Example Configuration

The following example shows how to configure system message logging:

configure terminal

  logging console 3

  logging monitor 3

  logging logfile my_log 6

  logging module 3

  logging level aaa 2

  logging timestamp milliseconds

  logging distribute

  logging server 172.28.254.253

  logging server 172.28.254.254 5 local3

  logging commit

  copy running-config startup-config

Thanks for update Mr.Reza,

I will try tomorrow then let you know, Can you please explain this command for Nexus switches is it?...

For other cisco switches like , 3750 Switches & ASR Router series what i have to use.

Regards,

Kannan

Hi,

I am not sure, if I understand your question.

Are you asking, if you use the same commands to configure logging server for 3750 and ASR series routers?

If yes, you would need to refere to documentation for each platform.

HTH

Thanks But I can see in all our nexus devices already enabled logging server xxxxx and also enable below commands.

Can you please confirm how to see already configured or not?

xxxxxx# sh running-config | i logging

logging server xx.xx.xx.xx 6 use-vrf name

xxxxx# sh logging module

Logging linecard:               enabled (Severity: notifications)

xxxxx#

xxxxx# sh logging console

Logging console:                enabled (Severity: critical)

xxxxx#

xxxxx# sh logging timestamp

Logging timestamp:              Seconds

xxxxx#

Thanks...
