Cisco Router 1841 IOS support

One of our customers wants to buy a cisco 1841 Router but he would want to load and run it with IOS 11.3 , 12.2 and 12.3 . Would the Cisco 1841 router router support the above version of IOS and lets say if he has loaded Cisco 1841 with IOS version 12.2 would he be able to degrade it to 11.3 IOS .

Hi,

The earliest release of software supported by the 1841 is 12.3(8)T10. There is no software available for it earlier than this.

Thanks that was of help . I will definitely rate that . Just one more query adding on to that : Which Cisco router would support this IOS : 11.3 , 12.2 .

If you are looking at 1841 type routers, you should look at the 1721. Also, the 2600 series routers would support those IOS versions.

Out of curiousity, why do you want to run older software ?

The customer needs it for a test setup to test compatibility with the products which he has developed .

I even took help from Cisco Partner help according to them 2600 supports 12.1 onwards and I guess Router 2500 supports 11.3 also .
