Hi everyone
I'm trying to connect to my cisco sg300-10. I tried diffrent setups but everything failed so far.
I tried this solution I found in the forum which didnt work:
Give your PC a static IP:
IP Address: 192.168.1.200
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default GW: None
DNS: None
With the switch removed from the network you should be able to reach it at 192.168.1.254
I tried to connect a router as DHCP and checked the DHCP table for the IP to come up, it shows all my connected devices but not the cisco switch.
I reseted the device after every attempt. Also I dont have the 9-Pin serial cable and would not really like to buy one just to set the swich up and I would just consider this solution if every other possibilty would fail.
Thanks a lot for any advise.
Kind regards
Michael

Hi are you trying by http and not https as well have you got active x installed on your browser
Aswell did you try several browsers in case its a compatibility issue
can you even ping 192.168.1.254 when you have your pc directly connected and set as .200
Theres only 2 ways to connect by http or by console
Admin guide explains how to connect
http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/csbms/sf30x_sg30x/quick_start/78-19252-01.pdf

I go with http.
I didnt check active x installation, but I can't even ping the switch. I doubt that's the point of failure.
The admin guide is what I followed after I failed and it basicly tells me the same things I already did... go without DHCP and set the IP manuelly, or go with DHCP and check the IP in the DHCP table.
Either way failed.

Just before you throw it out the window does you system led flash to say its using the default ip and just checkling your connected to a lan port yes when trying to ping the .254
flashes continuously.
If its not try a factory reset and check again
Only other option is to console into the device if you cant get http connection working
