Hello,
In the configuration, we had:
boot system flash bootflash:
boot system flash disk0:
Our IOS is in the disk0 compact flash in the sup-720
Now we changed it to only:
boot system flash disk0:
and it goes into ROMMON when reloaded the switch.
But then again when both configs were in, we get an error that bootflash does not work or something like that...here it is:
Autoboot executing command: "boot bootflash"
Loading image, please wait ...
Invalid device specified
Booting from default device
loadprog: error - on read during ELF program load
requested 42844692 (0x28dc214) bytes, got 33520708 (0x1ff7c44)
open: failed to find and/or load the bootloader: "bootflash:s72033-ipservicesk9-
mz.122-18.SXF12.bin"
loadprog: error - on file open
boot: cannot load "bootflash"
Now the thing is that we put BACK the config how it was in the beginning when it did load the IOS just fine from disk) which is:
boot system flash bootflash:
boot system flash disk0:
and it still brings us to ROMMON ...
What should we do??
We basically have a compact flash with the IOS image on it, we need it to boot from there only..
What should we do??
Thanks

as well, where is this coming from
bootflash:s72033-ipservicesk9-
mz.122-18.SXF12.bin ???
that is not the version we have on our compact flash.. maybe there is data on the actual on board flash itself? how can we know...
thanks

do a "dir /all"
Jon

You sound confused, buddy...dont feel bad, though, most of us on here are, too. :-)
Are you able to execute a "dir all-files" command to view the entire filesystem structure?

ok forget it, it was a stupid mistake on our part.
04-01-2009 02:49 PM
You need to specify the full image ie.
boot system flash disk0:/

Yeah, OK, fine....but you stole my idea of coming on this thread....I dont trust you tea drinkers across the Atlantic....
Whats up with your boy, Gordy...not to happy with our new glorious leader...lol

Gordy is not my boy, but then neither are any of the others !. Can't really argue this one - you have Obama, we have a dour Scots PM - enough said.
I do drink tea but on average more coffee in a day :-)

LOL, OK...no politics on here, but I'll say one thing, I LOVE Galloway!

Ok here is something interesting...
Now we are back on the IOS from Disk0 but when we do a:
show bootflash: it says:
No files on device
65536000 bytes available (0 bytes used)
When clearly before something showed up mentionning:
bootflash:s72033-ipservicesk9-mz.122-18.SXF12.bin
So where is it exactly??
We want to get rid of it so everything is clean...
Thanks

What is the output of "dir /all" ?
04-01-2009 03:16 PM
I already asked you to do a "dir all-files" to view the filesystem.
Do it and post the output here.

ok found it its here:
Directory of sup-bootflash:/
1 -rwx 33554432 Mar 19 2009 19:36:26 +00:00 s72033-ipservicesk9-mz.122
-18.SXF12.bin
how do we delete it?
