Cisco Switch Placement Question

I have a home network setup. I am tearing down a lot of it as I don't use it. Parr of it is taking out the small rack my 48 port Cisco switch was in as I need the space. My question is, can I put my Cisco switch on a table top and let it sit there and work?

Should I put something under it?

The front and back will be clear of anything and have plenty of access to air. There will be a couple small items sitting on top of the switch as well.

Thanks for Info ahead of time

Depends on the model of the switch - some switches make lot of noise, as long as security measures taken care, it does not matter where the switch located.

Depends on how dirty the fans are.

The dirtier the fans, the more it vibrates.

Cisco switches are incredibly robust and dependable, with extra intelligent manufacturing. Cisco switches are often portable; while rack mounting is the most reliable option, you can also utilise them on a table. Make sure you are not obstructing any ventilation and that the area where you use them is normal and not very hot. They feature tiny zigzag openings on both the left and right for ventilation and the fans as well.
