Hi all ,can anyone tell me why we would have a wds in my wireless network, what is the role of the wds master

Well the WDS is what control the Layer 2 or Layer 3 wireless roaming. That way one client can make move between AP's and it will do a full Re-authentication in less then 1 seconds. With now WDS the client will disconnnect from the network and any application(RFID, MEDIA streaming), will time out...

carl what is the point in activating WDS if you do not know what it does ?
WDS is basically a way of controlling roaming over a group of L2 connected AP's
the server has the highest (255) priority number configured - there can be several backups.

on the HTTP GUI on the WDS page click the help button and read a little.
Looks like you need to invest a little time in a few good books/PDF's.
