Hi there,
I need a WS-C2960-48PST-L next week and noticed to have WS-C2960-48PST-S’s in stock, is it possible to turn one of these into a “-L” version and what would be the cost for one if we do so?
Cheers

No because it's in the hardware.
There's no chance in heck you can upgrade the inside of a 2960 from LAN Lite to LAN Base.

Hi,
I have the same question about the WS-C2960-48PST-S. You said that it is into the hardware. Could you explain more, because I can see the file IOS bin for downloading in the Cisco site.
Expect for your comments.
Regards,
Mitchell

No, you cant change from Lite to Base as they are in hardwares.

The line that shows the product ID also ends in either –L (if running the LAN base image) or –S (if running the LAN Lite image). For example, WS-C2960S-48PD-L is running LAN base; WS-C2960S-24TS-S is running LAN Lite image.
