Color Blocking Logic Explanation Request...

"The color blocking logic (CBL) blocks traffic that is part of a VLAN different from that configured on a port from coming into or going out of that port and assists spanning tree in blocking ports to prevent loops."

This makes zero sense to me; makes me think a word or two is missing.   Could someone give me a better explanation of what CBL does?

Hi Damian,

The CBL mechanism cooperates with the forwarding engine of the switch to selectively enable the port interface circuit to receive certain VLAN-designated frames, and to discard others. It is efficient and cost effective.

Originally, VLANS were identified by colors to distinguish the different VLANS

However, this is actually the wrong forum for this question. This is for UCS specific questions.
