Hello everyone,
the 2960g switch has 20 electrical and 4 combo ( electrical or optical) ports.
when I try to set the speed or the duplex option of combo ports, 3 of them( really wired !!) has the "speed" CLI command which just has "non-negotiable" option and none of them has a duplex feature( see '4 combo port' attachment). Even though these options exist in CNA(Cisco Network Assistant) and I remember that I had been able to change this options before, but now it's not possible to set the speed for combo ports.( "CNA" attachment)
I'm really confused what is the problem!
Does anyone have any Idea?
FYI: The switch is "Cisco Ctalyst 2969G-24tc-L" , the IOS version is "12.2(55)SE-BASE-CRYPTO"

Hello,
Have you tried to set manually the port type with the "media-type rj45"?
That should open all the right sub-commands.

Hi,
Usually the combo ports are used for backbone/trunks, have you tried with the SFP modules installed?

eventually, I come up with these commands that one or more of them may be useful and solve the problem:
1)
shutdown and the no shutdown the port
2)
set the media type to Rj45 and run : Test cable-diagnostics tdr int Gigabitethernet port #
3)
use " no keepalive"
4)
set the speed to "nonnegotiate" in SFP mode
