Hardware - C2960
IOS - 12.2(25)
I am examining a requirement to configure C2960 as below
NTP internet sources > C2960 > Domain Controllers > other devices and servers
In theory what I am trying to achieve is to synchronize C2960 with multiple NTP internet sources which then would act as server and serve as NTP source to all windows domain controllers. Rest of the environment (other servers/host PC and switches) will synchronise with windows domain controllers to seek time.
On the C2960 there is SVI available and routed for management access.
Following are options under interface Vlan
C2960(config-if)#ntp ?
broadcast Configure NTP broadcast service
disable Disable NTP
Below on global config mode
C2960(config)#ntp ?
access-group Control NTP access
authenticate Authenticate time sources
authentication-key Authentication key for trusted time sources
broadcastdelay Estimated round-trip delay
clock-period Length of hardware clock tick
logging Enable NTP message logging
max-associations Set maximum number of associations
peer Configure NTP peer
server Configure NTP server
source Configure interface for source address
trusted-key Key numbers for trusted time sources
Thank you

Hi,
Sorry it is confusing, should the switch be configured as peer or server?
Because I need the switch to synchronize with internet source and then act as source back to internal networks only.
Thank you

yes, it should be configured as peer
