I have a Catalyst 3550 switch running my small network with several VLANs configured on it. I am looking to purchase a gigabit ethernet switch and came across the SRW2048 (Cisco Small Business line).
Can I connect these two switches together and have the SRW2048 pull VLAN information from the Catalyst 3550? What would be the best way to physically connect the two switches?

I don't think SRW2048 can pull vlan info from cat3550 since SRW2048 does not support VTP and uses GVRP instead.
You have to manually configure vlans on SRW2048.

Makes sense.
Is the management VLAN able to be changed on the SRW2048? Also, what would be the best way to physically connect the two switches?
Thanks.

Yes, you can change management vlan.
Most people would like to use fiber port as uplink. If you need more bandwidth, you can connected multiple ports and configure them as port-channel.
