Copying IOS from standby to active supe 4507 switch

Hi all,

I was upgrading IOS on 4507 R with dual supervisior.

I download the IOS on Active supervisior and did reboot.

After reboot i login to switch then i got switch standby prompt.

I found that after reboot active supervisior  became standby supervisior.

Now new IOS  is on standby supervisior.

Need to confirm below

So this means that IOS  does not syn  within the  supervisiors as compared to config  right ?

Which command i can use that will copy IOS from standby supe to Active supe??

Which command i can use that will show both active and standby supe with new IOS?

Is there any command that i can use to switchover from active to standby supe??

Thanks

MAhesh

have a look at this link:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/12.2/01xo/configuration/guide/RPR.html#wp1097897

also copying from one sup to the other

same link above

Switch# copy source_device:source_filename
slaveslot0:target_filename

Or:

Switch# copy source_device:source_filename
slavebootflash:target_filename

Copies the new image to a device on the standby supervisor engine (such as slavebootflash and slaveslot0).

Hi Mahesh,

No, the only the config will sync between the 2 sups.  You have to manually load the IOS in to the other sup.

Which command i can use that will copy IOS from standby supe to Active supe??

Which command i can use that will show both active and standby supe with new IOS?

use "show redun" that will show you if both sups are configured correctly, is yes the mode should be SSO and one the primary sup should be in "Active" and the stand-by sup should be "Hot"

Is there any command that i can use to switchover from active to standby supe??

Once you load the SAME EXACT IOS into both sups, configure SSO on the primary sup and reboot the switch.

When the switch comes online sup in slot 3 should be in active mode and 4 in stand-by mode.  Make sure that both sups have the same IOS and the same hardware components, and are exactly the same model.
