Hi all ,

cpu spiking up to 90-100% , Does it solve the issue if we upgrade the firmware "c3560-ipservicesk9-mz.122-55.SE9" .
Current firmware is "flash:/c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE7/c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE7.bin"

I doubt moving from 55SE7 to 55SE9 would make much if any difference, as 55SE7 is fairly solid, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

The high Hulc LED Process CPU, I believe, is a low priority task, so it's CPU consumption has little actual impact on switch processing.  What else is your CPU breakdown?  For example, in what you've posted, the CPU is shows 59% over five minutes while the Hulc LED Process only shows about 10% over the same five minutes.  I.e. what's the other 50%?

Thanks Joesph

Hmm, well your total process CPU seems higher than the sum of that show for the tasks, and you have a good bit of interrupt CPU (which can be somewhat difficult to identify the cause).

But that and you spikes don't always imply you have a performance problem.  For example, here's some CPU history on two of my stacks (also running 55SE3 and 55SE6).

Thank you

"How did u come to know that there is lot of cpu interrupt"

It's the 2nd percentage value of the 5 second CPU usage stat.

In your case, about 25%, which wouldn't seem too high, and that might be fine, but as forwarding should be done by ASICs, one can wonder what this 25% is.

"Actually there is a lot of multicast listener report message flooding the network from some HP pc’s . How can I protect the switch from the flood"

Often there's different flood limiters you can enable.  However, you need to be very careful enabling them, as they can block needed "flood" traffic too.

I've posted some history stats from two of my, more busy, 3750 stacks, and as you can see they average about 20% and with peaks of 100%, so you might not have a CPU problem.  What does your 36 hour CPU status look like?

Hi joesph

Thanks

I have attached last 72 hours history
