Creating a WiFi hotspot

Hello,

I need some advice and, if possible, links to resources i can use to implement this. Thanks in advance

I want to create a hotspot for a network i manage at a hotel, such that all checked-in hotel guests can login with a room number and a system generated password and also provide a free option for visitors. The router in use is a Cisco 1941 router, which is connected to an ISP modem. There are also multiple access points all connected to a switch. I have never implemented this before and i'm a bit clueless. Will appreciate any help.

Thanks

Are these standalone access points, or are they managed by a central controller?

I would normally recommend a Meraki solution for someone who wants a "self" managed system.  Here is the section on their site that relates to Hospitality and Tourism.

https://meraki.cisco.com/customers/hospitality-and-tourism

Also, I'm not sure you have considered the aspect of "analytics" - basically what you can learn about your customers using the system, but you should also consider CMX:

Also note that if you are an "IT" person in your organisation and if you attend an online webinar they'll - give - you an access point to keep.  You can then experiment with and create a hot spot and see how it works.

This is were you go:

Thanks Philip.

The access points are managed by a central controller.

The access points are UniFi products, How is the Meraki solution integrated into the network..?

I'd throw away the UniFi and put in Meraki access points.

Do the webinar, and you'll see what you can do. You wont want your old kit once you see what Meraki can do.

Alright thanks... Incase replacing my UniFi APs is not feasible... Is there any other option asides Meraki...?

Yes, but not that I would recommend.
