Hi everyone,

I am getting the below log in my one of the switch module in this case what we need to observe & do to fix the trouble.

GMT: %C6KENV-SP-4-MINORTEMPALARM: module 1 inlet temperature crossed threshold #1=45C. It has exceeded normal operating temperature range.

Can anybody experienced with this problem so can give ideas about this.

hi!

This means that your device/modules are not getting cooled correctly. Please verify that

1. The Fans are working well and operational.

2. Any dust/trash blocking the fan vents.

3. Sufficient space between the chassis for hot air to pass out.

4. Monitor the lab temperature so that it meets the operating temperature.

If the message is seen often, it is better to monitor the cooling needs and check the AC temperature is properly maintained.

Hi Niranjan,

Thanks for the reply.

Your solutions seems to be fix my problem.

Mean while can you give brief about below things.

1. The fans which are in side of the rack (where device placed) / device itself?

3. Sufficient space between the chassis, where we can find the chassis?

Regards,

Naidu.

Hi!

The fans refer to the fans in the device itself.

The "chassis" means the device... I meant to make sure that all the devices are not placed close (sticking) to each other and there is enough space for the hot air to pass and cooling to happen.

Niranjan
