Ctrl+V not working for me 3945 CUBE

Hello I am practicing voice translations on my 3945 configured as CUBE. When I need to enter the "?" character in a regular expression string, I type "Ctrl+V" as all the online info I can find states to do but it is not working.

When I type "ctrl+V" and then "shift+?", what i get on the command line is "^_" 

I am using SecureCRT as terminal emulation. Thanks any help or guidance is appreciated.

Hi, 

I had this problem on several ISR G2 routers using putty, MTPutty, and Tera Term. I solved it by typing esc+q+shift then ?

Hope this saves someone an hour or two.
