I have a Cisco Catalyst 3850 -24XS that has 10 extra interfaces showing up in the running config. These interfaces would belong to a network module; if I have one installed. Does anyone know how to remove these interfaces from the running config. Before you answer; I have removed and replaced the startup config with one that does not include the extra interfaces; and reloaded the switch. The interfaces have been removed form the startup config, but still show in the running config. The extra interfaces only show up in the running config and when I do a show interface including the interface number. Does anyone have any ideas that does not involve a full factory reset?
BTY: a wr mem only removes the config you create and not the interfaces..

Are you referring to 10Gig interfaces (te1/1/1-1/1/8) and the 2 40Gig interfaces?
If yes, that is part of the default config that comes with these switches even when the module is not present. Not sure if you can remove them.

Yes, those are the correct interfaces, according to the Cisco data sheet the switch does not include these in the default config.

I don't think the documentation is accurate. I checked multiple switches and they all come with the same default config. As an example, I don't have any 40Gig module installed but the switches show the interfaces in the running config and as well as in the output of "sh ip int brief"
