My Name is Shameem Masthan,
i woul like to get support and sugestion from you about to install my switches with recomanded Configuration. please find below the details what i am going to implement in my network. your quick response is really appriciated.
My network is Lan and connected with multiple building using fiber 1G UP Link, using network topology is Star and having below switches
1. Cisco Catalyst 4503-E Series (Supervisor card is WS-X45-SUP7L-E + Line Card is- WS-X4648-RJ45V+E + Cisco Catalyst 4500 24 Port SFP Line Card)
2. Cisco Catalyst 3750 X-48 Port Switches
3. Cisco Catalyst 3750 X-24 Port Switches
Has to have Below Configuration
1. VTP
Routing Protocol- OSPF area 0
VTP Domain- xxxxxxx
Password- xxxxxxxxx
VTP Mode- Core Switch in VTP Server mode and all the edge switches in client mode
2. VLAN Configuration as Per below we needed, Created VLAN Building wise (location), please find below the details

Hi
Thanks for the information, can you help abouth how to i configure for the vlan ospf routing protocol with area 0
09-12-2013 01:21 AM
Hi Shameem,
I can help you with this, no issues, but you have to fully understand your topology & configuration you are doing. You need to decide where OSPF is running & accordingly you need to enable OSPF in your toplogy. By the way do you have a topology diagram for your set up ? Beyond the two core-switches what are the other connectivity to internet ,etc. Is there any default route to your internet router ?
What is your plan to Access layer, just simply connect them to two core switches with dual L2 uplink. Are you defining all your vlan SVI on two 45xx ?
If you simply want to enable OSPF between two 45xx across particular vlan interface you can do something below, but again you need to understand what you want to achieve configuring these routing protocols before anything
router ospf 1
router-id x.x.x.x <--- It is good practice to create a loopback & give that as router-id
passive-interface default
no passive-interface vlan 1 <--- assuming if you want to enable OSPF between two core switches across this vlan
network 10.70.0.0 0.0.255.255 area 0
Above is very basic syntax & you need to decide what else you required.

Hi
thank you for your post
client given us the details of vlan and subnet and they asking us to configure all vlan with ospf area o, find below the details of vlan and ip subnet.
later this network will get connect with there existing network.
here we are using only one core switch and 18 edge switches. all connected using star topology. my task is to configure all vlan with ospf area 0 protocol.

What I would do in this case is create a topology diagram including how other networks integrate with this one & what networks they have & which OSPF area, etc. Then only you can assure inter-network routing is working. Ensure you know what networks they are having (overlapping subnets shoud not be there)
I think conifiguring OSPF make sense when these integration occurs. Give us a high-level topology view & then we can help you to go deep with OSPF (route summarization, default route injection, etc) to meet their requirement

Hi
i will ask them to get those detials and i will update as per. please can you create for me topology

This is something you have to do & here with attached a topology diagram to show you what I mean
