I have a couple of switches in a branch office connected via LES. They dont have a default gateway set but i can still talk to them and vice versa. How is this possible?

Hi,
A default gateway is only required if you are going to access them from another IP Subnet, if you are connecting to them within the same IP subnet (on the same LAN - via arp) then a default gateway is not required - another case that doesn't require a default gateway is if their default gateway has ip proxy-arp enabled on the interface facing them.
BR,
Mohammed Mahmoud.
