i have a dell vrtx chassis built in 8 port switch that i have cabled 4 ports to a cisco fex tp.
on the 4 ports on the vrtx switch i have it like this
interface gigabitethernet0/1
shutdown
spanning-tree disable
channel-group 1 mode auto
!
interface gigabitethernet0/2
shutdown
spanning-tree disable
channel-group 1 mode auto
!
interface gigabitethernet0/3
shutdown
spanning-tree disable
channel-group 1 mode auto
!
interface gigabitethernet0/4
shutdown
spanning-tree disable
channel-group 1 mode auto
!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
how do i configure the cisco side of the port channel?
right now the port config is
interface Ethernet101/1/19
switchport access vlan 50
spanning-tree port-priority 128
spanning-tree port type edge
no shutdown
interface Ethernet101/1/21
switchport access vlan 50
spanning-tree port type edge
interface Ethernet101/1/22
switchport access vlan 50
spanning-tree port type edge
no shutdown
interface Ethernet101/1/24
switchport access vlan 50
spanning-tree port type edge
no shutdown

Not familiar with Dell switches, but it appears that you are connecting a switch to a FEX. FEX ports are designed to be connected to end devices such as servers, workstations, printers, etc.. and not to other switches. So, I see two options. 1-Don't use the Dell switch and directly connect the servers to the FEX 2-Connect the Dell switch directly to the 7ks using VPC.

Hello,
"The Cisco Nexus 2148T fabric extender does not support EtherChannels on its host interfaces. Therefore a maximum of two links can be configured in an EtherChannel from the server where each link is connected to a separate Fabric Extender. " (c)
The other thing is STP. If you need to SPAN STP down through the Dell switch you can also create a L2 loop easily. So this should be very carefully considered.
I would vote for Reza's suggestion of connecting Dell switch directly to N7k.

hi
do you mean that the fex 2148 will not support any etherchannels from other switches?

Hello,
On host interfaces it does not.
