Hello! I am currently enrolled in a networking class at my school. We are currently doing a senior project where we have to design a network for an internet cafe and present it to various companies from the local area. I am currently trying to decide what size distro switch I should choose i.e 1/10 G, 25 G, 40 G, or 100 G ports. Currently, in the access layer, I have two stacks of six 48-port switches being connected to my distro using the 10 G uplinks that come on the switches I have selected. Each stack has 250 users who are going to be gaming.
For this project, we are working with an engineer who has taken the class in the past and now works at Cisco. However, he can't come in to talk to use for a few days so I thought I would post on here to get some suggestions or info. Previously, the engineer recommended 9500 series switches. Any suggestions or info are welcome. If this isn't the right section for this question please let me know.

Core/distro 9500 since you have high volume processing traffic.
Access Stack look for 9300, so both the cat 9K series good to go.
here is CVD for referece :

Thank you for the quick reply! So, if I do go with 9500 series which kind of port speeds should I be looking at 1/10 G, 25 G, 40 G, or 100 G? In other words, should I go with 1/10 G ports or 25-100 G ports?

Hello Jakob,
250 Users with 1G Network connections and since they are gaming, i would expect lot more traffic between Access and distribution Layer.. Below HW is what i would recommend.
Access Switch: C9300 with 25G Up-link module(Higher speed than 10G still using the existing Duplex Fiber)
Distribution Switch: C9500-24Y4C which is High performance switch with every port line rate and has a ASIC which can do 1Bpps and 3.2Tbps Full duplex processing power and also supports Stack-wise virtual/VSS for redundancy.
Regards
