determing status of service password-recovery

How may I determine the status of the password-recovery mechanism on a switch?  Is there are show command that can reveal it?

There is not any indication in the running configuration as to whether it is on or off from what I can tell.

Also, if I put in the command "service password-recovery" it's unclear if this enables the service, or disables the service.

"service ?" provides a description which actually says it "Disables Password-Recovery" but I thought it was "no service password-recovery" that disables the default feature.

"sh version" will provide the config-registry value.

The config will also provide details if password-recovery mechanism is disabled or enabled.
