I have a DHCP scope as follows:
ip dhcp pool native
network 10.10.1.0 255.255.255.0
dns-server 192.168.4.254
default-router 10.10.1.1
lease 7
I have 62 access points (not Cisco) that come up and get an IP address. It's a new install so we are dropping power often. When we do, the access points come up, and instead of retaining the address, they take the next one in the pool, and eventually the pool is depleted. The old addresses aren't being reused.
When I run out of addresses, I reload the DHCP service and repower all of the access points, and it seems they then start to pick up from the beginning of the pool again.
Does anyone know what might cause this ?
Many thanks,
NM

I suggest you change your lease from 7 days to 8 up 16h: lease 0 8 0

that's how it is. These netwokring devices don't retain their DHCP given IPs.
maybe they are reconnecting too often and so depleting the pool.
You may reduce the lease period to 1 day and see how it goes.
I would suggest assigning static IPs to your APs otherwise.
