I need to disable DHCP propagation in 2 connected sites and i have this scenario.

I have Site Q and Site A.in each we have DHCP Server.

Site Q has subnet 197.169.1.0 255.255.255.0

Site A has subnet 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0

in Site A we have DHCP Server 192.168.0.50

in Site Q we have DHCP Server 197.169.1.220

these 2 sites are connected together in this way:

SiteQ(3com Switch) is connected to port gi0/20 on core switch(3650) with this configuration on the port of core switch:

interface GigabitEthernet0/20

  switchport access vlan 197

switchport mode access

spanning-tree portfast

we have different Vlans:

vlan 197 with these configuration

interface Vlan197

  ip address 197.169.1.237 255.255.255.0
ip helper-address 197.169.1.220

VLAN Name                             Status    Ports

---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------

1    default                          active    Gi0/24, Gi0/25, Gi0/37, Gi0/49

                                                Gi0/51, Gi0/52

2    Management                       active

3    Servers                          active

4    Voice                            active    Gi0/1, Gi0/2, Gi0/4, Gi0/5

                                                Gi0/6, Gi0/7, Gi0/8, Gi0/9

                                                Gi0/10, Gi0/11, Gi0/12, Gi0/13

                                                Gi0/14, Gi0/16, Gi0/17, Gi0/18

                                                Gi0/19, Gi0/21, Gi0/22, Gi0/23

                                                Gi0/28, Gi0/29, Gi0/30, Gi0/31

                                                Gi0/32, Gi0/33, Gi0/34, Gi0/35

                                                Gi0/36, Gi0/40, Gi0/41, Gi0/42

                                                Gi0/43, Gi0/46

5    Data                                    active

10   Video                                  active

100  Wireless_Staff                     active

101  Wireless_Guest                   active

102  Wireless_Voice                   active

197  Old_Servers                      active    Gi0/1, Gi0/2, Gi0/4, Gi0/5

                                                Gi0/6, Gi0/7, Gi0/8, Gi0/9

                                                Gi0/10, Gi0/11, Gi0/12, Gi0/13

                                                Gi0/14, Gi0/16, Gi0/17, Gi0/18

                                                Gi0/19, Gi0/20, Gi0/21, Gi0/22

                                                Gi0/23, Gi0/26, Gi0/28, Gi0/29

                                                Gi0/30, Gi0/31, Gi0/32, Gi0/33

                                                Gi0/34, Gi0/35, Gi0/36, Gi0/40

                                                Gi0/41, Gi0/42, Gi0/43

now what is happening that some computers on subnet 197.169.1.0 getting 192.168.0.0 ip address which means it is taking ip address from other site.we dont need that scenario keeping into attention that 2 sites still need to see each other but DHCP must not be active from site to site.

what can we do to solve this issue.if you need more details about configuration i can offer it.

Hi,

Do you have the same DHCP server which is offering the ip address for two sites or it is different DHCP servers?

Sorry to say that i'm not clear about how these two sites are physically connected? A diagram would be helpfull...

Also what is the vlan number for 192.168.0.0 subnet and how is the interface configuration looking like for this vlan?

A little more information would be really helpfull here.

Regards

Najaf
