Diverse path with Nexus

Hello all,

Would love your input for the pros and cons of traffic flow (TCP sessions, load balancing of destination routes, etc) of 2 scenarios that we are deciding to implement.

Scenario A has 4 x 40Gbps links in each chassis going to a DC respectively.

Scenario B has 4 x 40Gbps links in each chassis and each chassis has a connection to both DCs  

Side note: It's not drawn but DC 1 and DC 2 have connections to each other in a full mesh fashion ( 2 P Nodes devices in each DC collecting campus PE Nodes )

Hi,

It depends on devices located in DC1 and DC2, but overall scenario-A is simple and will work fine by putting all 4 40Gig links in each chassis in one Portchannel. Scenario-B is more difficult as on most platforms (except 6500, 6700 configured as VSS and Nexus series configured as vPC) you can't create a Portchannles that has 2 links from 2 different chassis.
