I have small network of approx 100 pc's, pix 501, catalyst 4503, and a catalyst 3560 that serves approx 8 of those pc's. I have 7 vlans. We do right much h323 video conferencing and those devices are attached directly to the 4503 in their own vlan. Is there anyway to make sure this vlan or packets have priority over the others? If so, is this accomplished through the 4503 or at the individual unit settings? Or, is QoS only configured for trunk links, and the h323 packets dont pass through a trunk? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I read your post and you can configure QOS for your video traffic your network device will have to identify this traffic and forward it first so they will have priorty. QOS is something you will have to work on specificlly for your network based on traffic shaping and per call consumption, you don't want to stall the rest of your network. Take a look at the two document below, they should have all the information you need to to setup your video traffic QOS. HTH

Hey William, thanks for the info. I skimmed over it and it looks good. Is the 6500 and 4500 implementation pretty much the same? Thanks again.

No, the 4500 and 6500 are different (enough to go check specifics, anyway). If you go to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/netsol/ns656/networking_solutions_program_home.html and check the "Enterprise QoS Solution Reference Network Design Guide Version 3.3" it has specifics on just about all platforms, with decent examples.
