Please explain what a Multidrop timer in the DTP protocol is used for?

Access timer expiration (sec/state): never/STOPPED

Negotiation timer expiration (sec/state): never/STOPPED

Multidrop timer expiration (sec/state): never/STOPPED

If multiple neighbors are detected the Tm timer, or the multidrop timer is started.

Its used in point to multi-point links.

Does anyone have such a setup in production?
