Topology:
Two routers, R1 (2951) and R2 (1921) are connected to a core stacked pair 3850.
Currently, only R2 has an active WAN connection. It is cellular running BGP. R1, Core, R2 all run EIGRP. R1 doesn't have anything on the other side of it. (R1 will soon have a microwave link out, running EIGRP)
Loopbacks - Core: 10.1.1.0/32 R1: 10.1.1.1/32 R2: 10.1.1.2/32
Core owns a few subnets and has routes to R1's loopback and R2's loopback and 0.0.0.0 just fine.
R2 has routes to everything EXCEPT loopback of R1.
R1 has routes only to Core's looback and subnets, doesn't have a 0.0.0.0.
All devices have their EIGRP neighbors established.
It looks for all the world like Core is operating as EIGRP stub, but stub is not in the config. What is going on here?

Have you perhaps got an "IP Base" licence instead of "IP Services". IP Base only enables EIGRP stub.

Sorry, I meant to post the license but forgot.

Perhaps try "no eigrp stub".
Are you using the older "router eigrp xxx" configuration or the newer "named" eigrp configuration method?
05-25-2016 12:41 PM
If you want to convert to the newer "named" eigrp configuration method check out the "eigrp upgrade-cli" command under "router eigrp xxx".
05-25-2016 01:31 PM
Was this switch always "ip services", or was it upgraded from a lower licence level?
05-25-2016 01:43 PM
IP Services out of the box.

Hi -
What makes you think that the core is acting like a stub? Please post show commands that support your theory.

By "acting like a stub" I just meant that routes do not appear to be passed through the switch between the routers, but the switch's own routes are showing up on both routers. I'll get the other details in a bit.
05-26-2016 08:35 AM
Perhaps you would post the router eigrp config from all three devices? And also post show ip interface brief? This might give some insight into the issue.
