Embedded Packet Capture problem on 2911 serial sub-interface.

  Hi all!

I'm unable to monitor any packets with EPC on Serial interfaces but Ethernet interfaces working just fine. I need exactly WAN monitoring on Serial sub-interfaces (Serial0/0/0:15, Serial0/0/1:15 etc.) because they are connected to our upstream VoIP provider (related to other VoiP problem).

Is this a software bug or am i missing something?

 Thanks!

did you issue the start the capture command? : monitor capture point start CP

Of course. If i didn't then the Status would be Inactive

The "FUN" thing, that SPAN doesn't recognize Serial interfaces as Source so it's unavailable.

2911-3(config)#mon session 1 source interface ?
GigabitEthernet GigabitEthernet IEEE 802.3z
Port-channel Ethernet Channel of interfaces

2911-3(config)#

RITE also doesn't work on Serial interfaces. Configuration accepted but 0 packets goes from Se0/0/0:15 to Gi0/2.

So sad

Hello @kirilllissitsyn ,

if you have ISDN PRI E1 with the provider you can use debug commands to see activity on D channel :15

debug isdn q921         ! L2 ISDN

debug isdn q931         ! L3 ISDN

Hope to help

Giuseppe
