Enable Queueing on 6807 Sup6T

Can anyone advise on the queueing behaviour on a 6807 Sup6T

This is the current output from sh interface queueing

My understanding is that currently gi1/5/45 is trusting DSCP (Default Behaviour) but there is no queueing?

6807_Core1#sh queueing interface gi 1/5/45

Interface GigabitEthernet1/5/45 queueing strategy:  Weighted Round-Robin

  Port QoS is disabled globally

Queueing on Gi1/5/45: Tx Disabled Rx Disabled

Trust boundary disabled

  Trust state: trust DSCP

Trust state in queueing: trust COS

Extend trust state: not trusted [COS = 0]

  Default COS is 0

Queueing Mode In Tx direction: mode-cos

    Transmit queues [type = 1p3q8t]:

Queue Id    Scheduling  Num of thresholds

I am transitioning from a 6509 where this was configured on the equivalent port.

 wrr-queue bandwidth 5 25 20 20 20 5 5
 wrr-queue queue-limit 5 25 10 10 10 5 5
 wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 1 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 2 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 3 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 4 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 5 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 6 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 7 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 1 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 2 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
 wrr-queue random-detect 4
 wrr-queue random-detect 5
 wrr-queue random-detect 6
 wrr-queue random-detect 7
 wrr-queue cos-map 1 1 1
 wrr-queue cos-map 2 1 0
 wrr-queue cos-map 3 1 4
 wrr-queue cos-map 4 1 2
 wrr-queue cos-map 5 1 3
 wrr-queue cos-map 6 1 6
 wrr-queue cos-map 7 1 7
 mls qos trust dscp

Any advice on the transition or a pointer to documentation would help as I am confused on the crossover between 6509 to 6807

Thanks

Hi,

Im facing the same setup and migration tasks.

see this Cisco White paper:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-6500-series-switches/white_paper_c11-652042.html

Enable Qos by entering : auto qos default

Any port based qos setting is only required in special use cases like traffic shaping or rate limiting.

Nevertheless I was wondering if the is a default policy applied or not. Like on 3850X plattform with auto qos command....

Additionaly the Qos could be optimized on the Box by using Cisco APIC-EM - EasyQoS App.

Regards,

Holger

Add:

 auto qos default

After doing this:

CORE-6807#show queueing interface t1/2/17
Interface TenGigabitEthernet1/2/17 queueing strategy: Weighted Round-Robin

Port QoS is enabled globally
Queueing on Te1/2/17: Tx Enabled Rx Enabled
