Hello,

I have a cisco 2960 plus series switch and an SFP module. When I plug SFP in port the port goes in err-disable. After a shut, no shut the port's LED blink for once and it goes down again and the following message appears on the terminal.

%GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR: GBIC in port Gi0/1 has bad crc
 %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: gbic-invalid error detected on Gi0/1, putting Gi0/1 in err-disable state

Switch Model:  WS-C2960+24TC-L

SW Version: 15.2(2)E10

Boot Image: c2960-lanbasek9-mz.152-2.E10.bin

SFP: CISCO GLC-SX-MM

check fiber optic cables. CRC_ERROR: - looks like that is L1 check message

fiber is fine and this is situation also persists even after removing the fiber cable or replacing with another one.

hello leo,

this SFP is working fine in another cisco switch

If the SFP works fine in another switch then leave it there. In a few days the problem will follow to the other switch.

I have same issue on 2 ports after shut and no shut still port in error disable mode, I am not using SFP any thoughts?
