Hi
I'm trying to implement ERSPAN on a C9200 Switch. This command reference seems to suggest, that this command should be available:
However, when I try to apply the command, it is not recognized.
switch(config)#monitor session 1 type erspan-source ^ % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
switch(config)#monitor session 1 ?
destination SPAN destination interface or VLAN
filter SPAN filter VLAN
source SPAN source interface, VLAN
This is my SW Version and SW Image:
Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode ------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- ---- * 1 32 C9200-24P 16.11.1 CAT9K_LITE_IOSXE INSTALL
What am I missing? Thanks for your support.

That's a shame. Thanks for the quick answer.

Makes complete sense, from a technical point of view, right? :)

It would be such a useful feature for in depth troubleshooting at our branch locations - especially with WAN bandwidth becoming less and less of a concern. Probably too useful to be included in the basic SW image :o
I could understand the embedded wireshark feature only being available with "Advantage", but ERSPAN feels like it should be available on the platform by default. Oh well...

Hello,
have you been able to configure ERSPAN on your C9200 switch?
I am running the following model with DNA Advantage license
Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode
------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- ----
* 1 28 C9200L-24T-4X 16.12.02 CAT9K_LITE_IOSXE INSTALL
and the ERSPAN support is not there
Switch(config)#monitor session 1 ?
destination SPAN destination interface or VLAN
filter SPAN filter VLAN
source SPAN source interface, VLAN
Best Regards,
P.
