Hi,
I have a B200M2 with 8 blades, one of which has a call recording server on it. This recorder has a sniffer port but my trouble is getting traffic to that NIC. The flow of traffic is Nexus5K -> Fabric Interconnect (6148) -> VM on UCS blade.
I've always used SPAN for call recording traffic but despite being able to get the traffic to the fabric interconnect it seems they cannot forward that traffic to the NIC on the VM. So ERSPAN seems to be the only way to do it. However my knowledge is limited.
My main question is, can I do this with an ERSPAN session from the Nexus 5k direct to the IP of the VM NIC such as
monitor session 1 type erspan-source
description SPAN Session
erspan-id 10
vrf default
destination ip x.x.x.x //IP of VM NIC
source vlan 10XX,10XX
no shutdown
or do I have to go for a switch -> switch method?
Thanks in advance
Michael
