From What I've Read On The Internet About The Reason Behind The Ethernet Frame Data Size Is Limited Between (46 - 1500), Iv'e Found The Reason Is Because Of Historical Limitations Which Doesn't Apply For Today's Hardware And Software Capabilities, I Understand That It Had To Be kept Like This For A While For Backward Compatibility, But Shouldn't It Be Changed Nowadays?

Thanks For Replying, But The IEEE 802.3 Standard Was First Introduced In 1983, So My Question Is Why Do We Still Work By The Limitations Of That Time?

Hi Ali,
Someone or some organization (IEEE possibly) would need to write a new RFC to make any changes. Also, imagine how expensive would that be for so many organizations, vendors across the globe to change the standard.
