Hi,
the record option does not work. First Ping without "record" Option:
R3#ping Protocol [ip]: Target IP address: 192.168.100.1 Repeat count [5]: Datagram size [100]: Timeout in seconds [2]: Extended commands [n]: y Ingress ping [n]: Source address or interface: Type of service [0]: Set DF bit in IP header? [no]: Validate reply data? [no]: Data pattern [0x0000ABCD]: Loose, Strict, Record, Timestamp, Verbose[none]: Sweep range of sizes [n]: Type escape sequence to abort. Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 192.168.100.1, timeout is 2 seconds: !!!!! Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 3/4/5 ms
Same ping with "record" option.

Hi,
The target ip address that you are trying to ping is firstly not pingable from R3 router due to which you are not able to get the output from the record with no hops being visible in the output. First, try to identify the problem to ping the destination ip 192.168.100.1 from R3. once you are able to ping , then do an extended ping with record should result in the output of all the hops that are shown in reaching towards destination.

The ip address I am trying to ping is reachable, see the first output. The difference between the first and second command is just the Record Option. Without the Record Option, everything works fine...
