Good day!
Can somebody explain what is FPOE (Fabric Port of Exit)? The only information i found
Fabric Port of Exit (FPOE) is stored in the result received from the supervisor forwarding engine. FPOE is an 18-bit field which is placed in the Packet header. Fabric forwarding is based on this value.
But, unfortunately,I cant clearly get what it is from this brief description
Is it just some index set to every channel on every module used for switching over the Fabric? So all ports residing on same FIRE ASIC on module shares this index. From here second question - how in internal header indicated to which exit port ( i mean physical port Gi 1/1 for eg.) frame destined? In other words - if FPOE points only to FIRE ASIC, based on what outgoing port belonging to this ASIC choosed?
P.S. Maybe smb even can provide internal header format for catalyst 6500?
Tnx in advance for your responces!
