Hi
Fabric switch is a new concept. You can have fabric in Cisco ACI using Nexus and now you can have facric in enterprise using catalyst 9xxxx as wall. Fabric brings a whole universe in network.

Don't confuse the terminology Fabric - (cisco buzz word)
Fabric is simply an overlay network. Overlays are created through encapsulation, a process that adds an additional header(s) to the original packet or frame. An overlay network creates a logical topology used to virtually connect devices that are built over an arbitrary physical underlay topology.
Most of your questions already have enough explanation over internet and cisco site.
This information mostly you need to look based on the model of the switch you choose and supervisor card that can give you more information.
