FabricPath between MSTP and RSTP

Hi all,

is it possible to interconnect 2 sites in fabricpath with one domain in MSTP for the first site and an other domain in RSTP for the second site ?

Hello Tommy,

That should be possible, however, the MSTP and RSTP will not really interact with each other.

The FabricPath region appears as a single bridge with no other bridges behind it to any STP/RSTP/MSTP switch connected to it. BPDUs are not carried or tunnelled through the FabricPath region, rather, the STP is terminated at the edge port of a FP-enabled switch. This way, the FP region effectively isolates the STP islands from each other.
