Fake switches or something else wrong?

The Switches shown in the attachments were offered to us for sale used. At first it seems like a "well known" Cisco seller in the Netherlands, but communication is from China and also the Company Details don't seem right. We are afraid not only this is not an official dealer but also These are maybe counterfeit / fake products? Cisco can contact us about Details, this Company is selling on Ebay also...

Thx

Guido,

post the links to the ads...and be careful, very careful. What are these devices offered for, what price ?

This is the seller:

http://m.ebay.de/itm/CISCO-C2960X-STACK-2960-X-FLEXSTACK-PLUS-STACKING-MODUL-1-YEAR-WRTY-/112519858206?hash=item1a32b4c81e%3Ag%3A-LYAAOSw3gJZIu%7EV&_trkparms=pageci%253Ac2fa548b-82bb-11e7-83d7-74dbd1800d51%257Cparentrq%253Aec964f2815d0a8605d487fcafffb898f%257Ciid%253A9

Devices are offered for 1200 (used). But shoudn't it at least from the serial should be clear if real or not? Cisco serial checker shows nothing at all?!

So they are selling since 2011 with good reviews and Cisco doesn't care? Are they fake? If so why isn't something done about that? Anyway the serials are fake or not? This info would be good sonincan report to ebay. Cisco no?

Also the units can be picked up at Midl bv integrated logistics in Nijmegen (which is in the  Netherlands) but still

Guido,

I would call them up and ask them if you can come to Nijmegen before you buy the switch. There are so many fake sellers on Ebay, it is basically impossible to eliminate them all.

Agree. They say the could be picked up in Nijmegen but i do no not understand why the Cisco serial check gives no information about them? Nothing at all

There may not be a definitive way to tell if the unit is fake.  Nobody ever listed ways in which to positively ascertain whether the device is authentic or not.   The general advice is to contact Cisco from most user on forums.  Unless you're a specialist how can you tell a fake from a real one?  To be safe it is advised to buy from an authorised Cisco-re-seller.
