Hello,
I have a Cisco C1000-48T-4G-L deployed and what I notice is that the fan speeds ramp up and down as though the switch. I would expect that under "normal" operation, the fan rpms would be steady and consistent. I have been reading only and the behavior may be normal. But I wanted to reach out and see if this is normal. If I look at the env output, the read normal:
SWITCH: 1
SYSTEM FAN SPEED is OK
SYSTEM TEMPERATURE is OK
System Temperature Value: 53 Degree Celsius
PHY Temperature Value: 49 Degree Celsius
DDR Temperature Value: 51 Degree Celsius
System Temperature State: GREEN
Yellow Threshold : 67 Degree Celsius
Red Threshold : 70 Degree Celsius
SWITCH: 1
PID: Built-in
System Power:(Watts) 60
Max Power Usage:(Watts) 54
Maximum Heat Dissipation: (Watts) 44
Power Supply Status: Good
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

These all changes will be depends on the environment where the switch install and how this processing the traffic.
check the datasheet normal decibels

Give it a little time, I’ve found that when turning on new hardware: switches, firewalls, network equipment the fans will run, and after about a week, depending on the machine they stay at a steady state. Just keep working on configuring and do the back end work, worst case: you set the system up and have all your notes, at end if still not what you are expecting apply an exchange or try and find a different model/same model/new unit etc.

I can confirm that this is still an issue with the C1000 series 48-port model on IOS 15.2.7E12. It's really bizarre that Cisco hasn't fixed this even though it was first reported over 3 years ago.

Because Cisco wants to get rid of classic IOS and the Catalyst 1000 is one of the last vestige.
