Hello,

I just have one little question :

Is it possible to link a HP switch (pro curv 4204vl) and a Cisco switch (2960G) with a fiber-optic link ?

And of course, each of them use a transceiver of the brand of its manufacturer

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

HENRY Côme

It should work, assuming you're using the same fiber standard.

Thanks for your answer !

I'm a begginer in the field of optic fiber, and the transceivers are logically the same :

On the cisco : NAME: "GigabitEthernet0/45", DESCR: "100BaseFX SFP"

On the HP : 100FX-sfp

But the leds don't flash

What kind of fiber are you using?

Have you tried reversing the fiber strands?

BTW, there's a forum dedicated to optical networking.

The king of fiber is multimode

And yes we tried to reverse the fiber strands
